Decking The Halls

We tried something new this year... a real tree! I know that for many of you this is no big deal, but for my OCD self, it is. I love fake trees (call me vain) because you can make them look absolutely perfect. However, my children expressed the desire to go up in the mountains and bring home a real tree. I am nothing, if not supportive of my children (see, I can set my vanity aside) and so we did as they requested. I am using the term "we" lightly, in reality it was Jason, Carter and Caitlin that did all the work and brought home the tree.

And now for the Tree Trimming.... complete with Christmas music courtesy of Josh Grobin, kettle corn, and sinfully good almonds toasted with sugar and cinnamon.

Don't you just LOVE Christmas?

I like fake trees too, but your real tree is very pretty! Danny has always wanted to go cut down a tree, but so far the fake tree wins! Glad you guys had a fun Thanksgiving weekend.

We did that when we lived in Massachusetts. It was...an experience, and thankfully no one was harmed in the cutting. It was fun. I got a faker this year though.

Also, this is weird, but for some reason your blog did not show up on my google reader for the past week or so. I thought you were out of town for Thanksgiving or something...I didn't get any posts after Miami. But now you are back on there (?)...so I am playing catch-up. But that pretty much sums up my week, anyway.

Now I hope you didn't just go out and cut down any old tree? I'm pretty sure you can get in trouble for that. Caleb went out and found us a tree, but it fell out of the truck on the drive home. Don't worry though, he had a spare just in case! Tell Jason and the kids they did well. It's a cute tree!

Yeah well, that cute tree started to trip over today. While trying to fix it, I got my fingers poked like a million times. Then, I got sticky fingers while trying to water the dog-gone thing! Have I mentioned that I have a strong dislike for real trees???

Oh btw, I just realized we have that same rug. What are the odds??

Admit it Jamie, there is nothing better than the smell of a real tree at christmas time! That pine gum is really sticky though isn't it?
