Freedom!

Guess what Carter did yesterday? He went swimming! I watched him as he got into the water, a little nervous at first, and started to move around. You should have seen the look on his face, it said one thing... FREEDOM! After not being able to even move his leg independently, it was awesome to see him moving around and smiling. He spent 20 minutes in the pool and four hours afterward napping! You'll notice in the pictures that Colby was very worried about his brother and stayed by his side the whole time - while the parents sat in chairs and read, freedom for us, too!Yesterday was the week anniversary of surgery, meaning it was time to start lengthening. There are pictures of Carter using the wrench to make the 1/4 millimeter turns, we do four turns each day. Carter continues to attend physical therapy everyday and he is making good progress. We are so proud of our cute boy! Oh, I just included the first picture to make my sisters jealous, got to get my kicks somehow.

I can't believe that boy always has a smile on his face, even while the doctor is looking at his legs! This post made me tear up. What special kids you have, they are wonderful.

Can your kids, especially Caitlin, swim without snorkles? I guess at that age you don't care what you look like! The picture worked, I'm very jealous! I guess the view makes up for your stress...a little. We're glad to see Carter doing so well. He has such a cute face. It is surprising to hear such upbeat things, when we were so used to all the problems from past surgeries. Hooray for finding such a good doctor! Love you guys!
