I had a hard time deciding if I should to post pics of his leg after the break, the whole thing was rather emotionally draining and I just wanted to forget it. But, I've been faithful at recording his story and well, this is an important part. The pictures are hard to look at, you can see the metal rod pushing against his skin at the top of his leg and that bump that looks like his knee- yeah, it's not- but rather where the bone had broken.
Today actually marks the one week anniversary of the whole debacle and, truthfully, we are doing much better than I ever would have imaged (especially if you'd asked me last Sunday when I felt like our world was crashing around us). We were reminded, once again, that Carter has been blessed with an amazing strength, that our family can get through hard times together and that our prayers are answered!

Glad to hear that you are home. What a strong son you have there not to mention he has strong parents as well. Hope everything goes better from here on out and that you have an great Holiday season.
By the way, I think of you every time I see the Christmas signs you made for me:-)
It is always so good to hear your positive attitude! I'm glad y'all are back safe!
Today, without any mention or promptings, Livvy picked up her toy cell phone and said, "I'm gonna call Carter and tell him I love him."
In fact, I think I may have to share her love story on my blog. I hope you and Carter won't mind. I just find it sooo sweet! ;)
Jamie and Carter,
I am so very very sorry about what happened after you returned home. Jamie, you have a great deal of strength that I cannot imagine. I have cried many tears reading your last 2 posts. Please know I am praying for Carter's leg to heal and my thoughts are with you throughout many days.

I just read this. My worst nightmare. I am so sorry your family has to go through this. We've had a few little blips in our path... but thankful nothing that required the fixator be placed back on. I wish Carter a speedy recovery!
