He Passed!

Well, Carter and Jason were in Florida this weekend for an appointment. It's kinda funny that an "appointment" entails 2 plane tickets, a rental car, two nights in a hotel, and a medical bill that will be denied by the insurance. Actually, I guess it's not really that funny. I opted out of this trip, I've had my fill of flying to Florida for awhile!
Anyhow, Dr. Paley was very pleased with how well Carter has healed, yay! This is a unique situation for us... we aren't used to getting GOOD news at doctor's appointments. Carter called me after his appointment and I asked him if he "passed his test" he just laughed. So, it appears that we are indeed going forward with the May 13th surgery. Wow, time is really flying... the next go-round will be here before we know it.
Do you really want an insurance update? I guess I'll give you one. They haven't paid anything yet, but I have confidence that if we keep up the fight, we will win. Interestingly enough, while Jason and Carter were gone I got another denied claim in the mail... for 30K. Ouch! Honestly though, it didn't really upset me. Our family has been blessed to this point and, I can't explain it, but I just feel very peaceful and calm, despite everything. I know that we are doing what is best for Carter and that is what we will keep doing. So, there you have it!

Thank you for your prayers and support. This has been a humbling experience for our family. We continue to be amazed by the good people who love us and will do anything for us. Miracles continue to flow our way. Let me share a little experience with you. The day before Jason and Carter left for the trip (literally the day before) our friend and owner of the local grocery store showed up with a container of donated change. To me it was a miracle. She didn't know about the appointment, but there she was, to help us just when we needed it most. Yes, we have been blessed indeed.

So glad everything went well for Carter. I bet he and Jason wished they would have stayed in Florida with the weather we've been having!!

Yeah! I'm so glad Carter passed his test. He needed Dr. Paley (those insurance people don't know what they're talking about.
